Not to be confused with the Star Gentian of a few days ago, this one is tiny and is up above tree line on the Old Fall River Road mile 8.
Found these tiny orchids at Ypsilon Lake … there were several good patches this year.
Gorgeous red centers — even after the petals fall off!
We found a whole field of these giant subalpine larkspur — hundreds of them mixed in with tall chiming bells and cow parsnip up at Ypsilon Lake. Beautiful!
