Lillies! What a great day we had at the American Lakes Trail in the state forest near the Never Summer Mountains. There were fields full of Avalanche Lillies. I’ve never seen anything like it. So cool! And they were often mixed with Globeflowers and Marsh Marigolds. Lots of snow still to slog through on this…

Mud Beauties

With snow melt and run off only half done, there are a lot of wet, muddy areas on the trails. Often they host clumps of delicate globeflowers (yellow) mixed with white marsh marigolds. They’ll dissapear as things dry out. We saw these on the Lake Ouzel trail.
