Hiking the Cow Creek trail today, I was nearly overwhelmed by the huge variety of flowers. Many of them were in shades of purple. So here you go, Prince fans … Purple Fringe, Larkspur, Colorado Columbine, Rock Clematis, Britton Scullcap, Wild Iris, Locoweed and Asters. Enjoy!
Absolutely stunning — bigger than your palm — we found these at Coyote Ridge in Fort Collins at dusk. Big moths circle around pollinating them.
Milkweed — does it also do a body good? It must, at least for bees, bugs and hummingbirds. The baseball size clusters of flowers on the bushes ( usually about 30 clusters per bush) are so interesting and full of life. Bug life, that is!
