We have had three good frosts up in the mountains and are running out of flowers. So, being a creative and determined flower searcher, we headed to a lower altitude … Fort Collins. At Coyote Ridge I hoped to find the last few Evening Stars, but I was a week or two too late; they were all dried up. Still, these huge, bright Common Sunflowers were a highlight in big patches across the prairie. You know by now how I feel about yellow flowers — Wow!
