Whenever we are so lucky as to have guests here in the Rockies, I always like to take them up above tree line. Many don’t get it … but those that do love it just as much as I do. The barren, windswept landscape moves something deeply in me. And the tiny, tiny wildflowers that cling to the rocks are so cool. They are the ultimate testament to resilience and determination to survive. It was these hardy little blossoms — the Moss Campion in white, pink and blue, the Alpine Paintbrush, the miniature Alpine Sunflower that follows the sun just like its giant cousin — that first got me interested in wildflowers. Simply awesome.
