Super lazy today, and I can’t find the energy to go for a hike. So I’m just going to talk about the wild flowers in my yard. But no worries — I’ve got some beauties! The first is this wonderful Musk Thistle. It is so big and bright it just pops out of the grass at you. And the hummingbirds love it. Don’t confuse it with the Canada Thistle which has clusters of smaller pink flowers and is now considered a noxious weed. We are supposed to kill those, but I’m afraid a have a bumper crop. Ugh.
Wow, the humble thistle throws out a spectacular flower!
