Goofy Droopy Lovely

I hope you can see these funny flowers.  The Nodding Onion is so delicate and small that it is tough to photograph well.  It’s a cluster of little lilac colored droplets on a thin single stem. Kind of the Audrey Hepburn of wildflowers. I also learned today that they don’t tolerate sun very well. I found them down by the river this morning, and when I returned with my camera in the afternoon the bunch I had spied had wilted away.  I had to crawl around under the shady pines to find some that were still fresh. Enjoy.
